Sheridan Lake, Idaho
Sheridan Lake, which is the site of my clinic on Saturday, May 24, will also be the site of two days of hosted fishing on Friday, May 23, and Sunday, May 25. I'll also be hosting two days on October 2 and 3.
These rainbows and cutthroats put on weight quickly in this nutrient-rich body of water. When full, the lake is around 400 acres with much of it 7-10 feet deep.
Sight fishing is at it’s best in late May through June with hatches of callibaetis mayflies and midges bringing plenty of fish to the surface. However, most of the bigger rainbows 6-10 pounds are taken on leech and bugger patterns.
An intermediate line is a good choice here, but a TYPE 2 also will rach these larger fish when they drop down in depth.
The lake is located about 20 miles off Hwy 20 near Mack’s Inn. For more information, contact Denny at 541-381-2218.
