Piedmont Reservoir, Fort Bridger, Wyoming
Probably the best stillwater fishery
I know
of, Piedmont Reservoir is an alkaline high desert lake loaded with
big trophy rainbow, brown and hybrid cutthroat/rainbow trout.
Located on the Guild Ranch, this nutrient rich fish factory is
right up there with the best stillwater lakes I’ve had
the opportunity to fish. Rainbows average 3-5 pounds with a few
going of 8-12 pounds.
This shallow fishery (average depth
8 feet) produces well on most insect patterns and is especially
good when small streamers or seal buggers are used. Most anglers
will average fifteen to twenty fish per day with higher numbers
for more experienced fishermen.
Piedmont is one of the better trophy
lakes you will fish in a lifetime. I don't think you will be disappointed.
I’ll be hosting two trips in 2008, May 28-30 and October 9-10.
Lodging is in Fort Bridger eight
miles east off Interstate 80, or Evanston 15 miles west off the
same interstate.
The fee is $225.00 per angler which
includes fishing fee and my instruction.
