Fly
Fishing Trips
Location: Monster Lake, Cody, WY
Date: May 30, 31, & June 1 then Sept. 15-17
Fees: $250.00 p/p per day
I consider this one of the best trophy fisheries I have ever experienced for size and numbers of wild, strong, obese rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook trout. These football sized trout are not intimidated by heavy rods and large tippets. When I fished this lake last September, 15-20 fish days were common. No one has fished over these trout for almost four years and the trout reacted as such. These full bodied trout are aggressive, tireless fish with a nasty attitude when hooked. They are simply the hardest fighting trout I have ever encountered.
This is a shallow lake, extremely rich in nutrients with an enormous food chain capable of growing trout to huge proportions quickly. Most of the fish will add 1-3 pounds yearly. And this is the best dry fly lake I have ever fished. Imagine 5-8 pound trout coming up to a dry fly.
I'll be hosting two trips in 2011, June 2-4 and again in the fall, September 29 - October 1. Both times are prime for big fish. The fee is $250.00 per person per day, but well worth it.
Accommodations are in Cody just 12 miles from the lake. We will be staying at the Beartooth Inn in Cody next to the airport. I'll be glad to make your reservation or for more information, please call me at 541-381-2218.
Note:
Float tubes or pontoon boats are recommended.
