Fly Fishing Funamentals For Stillwater

Fees: The fee for the clinic and private ranch fishing is $150.00 per angler.

Heenan Lake, located near the town of Markleeville in California’s High Sierras is the site of this fall lakeside clinic. This is a cutthroat brood-stock fishery that is open for fishing only for a short time during the month of September each year.

All aspects of stillwater fly fishing will be covered in this 3-hour clinic leaving the afternoon hours for fishing the lake. Special emphasis will be on stillwater presentaion including proper lines, leader and tippet lengths and sizes, flies, retrieves and zones of a lake, how to avoid angler mistakes in presentation, dealing with nature’s moods and it’s impact on trout behavior and much more.

Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters at 530-541-8208 will handle the registration of clients. We will meet at the fly shop at 7:30am and proceed as a group to Heenan Lake for the clinic. For information about the class, you can contact the fly shop or call Denny at 541-381-2218.
